With its almost 2,000 km of beautiful beaches and coves we have found it difficult to choose the most beautiful. Difficult but not impossible, and after investigating, exploring, discussing and voting, Rober and I have a verdict (and see that it is difficult to agree). We will review at most beautiful beaches and coves in Sardinia.

Do you know what is the best way to explore Sardinia? By car! Make base in some cool accommodation and rent a car to explore the most interesting points and beaches of Sardinia!

And we leave you all the activities and excursions that you can hire in Sardinia. Definitely a super fun island!

Why? Ok, the name "hairy" is not very attractive, but it is one of the most beloved beaches in the entire Mediterranean. Fine white sand, blue waters and in the background the tower of the Pelosa: a true charming postcard.

Where? It is located in the north of the island. The nearest city is Porto Torres, but we went on an excursion from Alghero (about 40 km)

Eye! When we went there was some jellyfish.

Why? It is an amazing marine park, although it is not very cheap ... we visited it on a day trip from Alghero, and the truth is that it knew us little by little!

Where? In the northwest, accessible by car.

Eye! La Maddalena is not a beach, it is an archipelago of about 60 islands that may not appear on this list!

Why? If you like to swim and snorkel, its turquoise waters are ideal.

Where? It is in the north of Sardinia, very close to the town of Santa Teresa di Gallura, which also deserves a visit.

Why? Obviously because it is beautiful! And also because it is not very famous ... so you won't have to share its charm with 2,000 more tourists.

Where? It is located on the west coast, about 20 minutes drive from Oristano.

Why? If you like the party this area is perfect for you: Porto Cervo is the center of the Costa Smeralda, the most luxurious of the island and VIP mecca. The beaches are beautiful, like Pevero's, with emerald water that you can't resist!

Where? Porto Cervo is located in the northeast of the island, very close to La Maddalena.

Why? If it seems little to you that UNESCO has declared it world heritage, think it is a paradise cove where you will be surrounded by blue waters, sand and white stones and wild vegetation.

Where? It is 2 hours from Olbia. The only problem is access: if you want to enjoy paradise get ready for a 2 hour trekking. Of course, there is always the option of arriving by boat!

Why? It's marvelous! Both the beach, full of rocks and white and pink sand, as the crystalline sea and white rocks that give a special charm to the place. Also if you like caving here you will find very interesting sea caves. The best way to get there is by boat (the most daring can do it walking)

Where? Is found in Ispuligi Point, in the Gulf of Orosei.

Why? The pink beach is unique in the world: the coral fragments of its sand give it the characteristic pink color. Access to the beach is limited: it can only be reached by tour.

Where? It is in the Budelli Island It is part of the Maddalena archipelago.

And if you think you're going to get bored of seeing paradisiacal beaches and swimming in crystal clear waters (look you're weird) don't worry that the Italian island has much more to offer: stunning natural parkshistoric cities, in addition to enjoying the Sardinian cuisine, which is exquisite (since my friend Luca introduced me to the world of culurgionesI have one more reason to love life!).

Let Sardinia agree with everyone: from the pinchers more demanding the most backpacker will fall in love with its beaches and hidden coves ... yes, if you travel with a tight budget you have to follow some trick to travel cheap in Sardinia:

  1. Travel in mid-low season (Sardinia's climate is ideal from May to the end of September: avoid traveling in July and August when prices soar and tourists multiply).
  2. Plan: Do not waste time and look for hotel deals in advance, look for campsites, think about renting an apartment if you are traveling as a group (remember that if you register on Airbnb with this link you have € 35 discount!), and buy tickets plane / ferry in advance ... if you do it at the last minute it can be expensive, very expensive!
  3. Public transport is regular, pulling bad ... If you plan to visit different areas (we advise you) an interesting option may be rent a car. The best thing is that you make a comparison on a website like this.

But above all do not forget to enjoy every second in this fantastic land ...

Here we leave a map with the locations of the best beaches of Sardinia:
