Carcassonne and the Cathar Castles on a weekend

This getaway took us to Carcassonne and the Cathar Castles on a weekend.
We leave Lloret de Mar and head to our first destination, Queribus Castle, which is about two hours from home.

When you go through the ticket office to buy tickets, they offer us a passport that for 2 euros more than the price of the original ticket (5.50 '- euros), we will be making a discount of one euro in all Cathar castles and abbeys that we go visiting We do not think too much and this will be our entrance to the places we visit in this getaway.
After this visit we go to Peyrepertuse Castle, one of the most impressive, which stands out for its mimicry with the rock on which it stands.
After a few hours we go to the Castle of Arques, which we visit only the outside, surrounded by spectacular landscapes.
After these visits to some of the Cathar Castles, we go to Carcassonne, one of the strengths of this getaway.
Here we spend the rest of the day, enjoying one of the most beautiful medieval cities we have ever seen.
The next day, after walking for a while around the medieval city, we go to Lagrasse, a town of the most picturesque and well worth a visit.
From here we head towards the Fontfroide Abbey, which is the end point of our weekend getaway.
