Day 17: YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

Sunday, October 25, 2009
We wake up early and go to breakfast at a restaurant near the south entrance of the park. Today we want to see theYosemite National Park in one day.
Breakfast, as usual since we arrived, is extra, so when we reach the middle we are already unable to move.
We wanted to use one more day at Yosemite National Park, but carrying a fairly tight planning has been impossible, so we decided to see everything possible by doing the car trips and not doing any trail is this park. A shame, because it is beautiful.

Before entering the Yosemite National Park we stop in a parking lot where you get some incredible panoramic views of the Yosemite Valley.

Our first stop inside the park is at the Waterfall of the Veil of the Bride. Impressive waterfall not for its flow but for the height from which the water falls.

Once we have parked in full Yosemite Valley, we fly up El Capitan, great rocky mountain icon of Yosemite National Park and one of the most famous among climbers.

Yosemite National Park

We go through all the points of the valley with the rental car in the United States, stopping every few meters, taking photos and leaving us dazzled by a landscape that has enamored us and is the best farewell of nature that we could have on this trip to the National Parks of the West Coast of the United States.

When the time of noon arrives, we take the opportunity to eat in one of the park's many snacks, from where we see how climbers who have managed to get down climb El Capitan.

Once eaten we go to another of the great points of this park the Half Dome viewpoint, one of the best in the whole park and that is a little far from where we are at the moment.
The Half Dome is a granite dome of the Yosemite Valley, being probably the most famous image of Yosemite National Park.

Around 8 pm we set out to take the road back to the Evergreen Lodge, the accommodation we have for tonight, some cabins at the west entrance of the Yosemite Park.
The momentazo of the day is when on the way back, I almost half asleep in the car, Roger calls me screaming. He stops the car and tells me "an osoooooo, an osooooo ...". It hasn't taken me a second to take the camera and start taking pictures.

Bear in Yosemite

Behind us a large caravan of cars stop and get off the cars to take pictures until a ranger comes to clear the road.
We have finally seen it! The bear that had not been seen on this trip, today, finishing our visit to the parks, has given us the icing on the cake perfect
The hotel is perfect, without television, without telephone and in the midst of nature, a shame not to enjoy it any longer.
We ate some snacks in the room that we bought and we were on the porch for a while, until it was time to go to rest.
